Series: Estate Planning
Course Description

Estate planning often focuses on tax planning, asset protection, and other traditional objectives. But for a surprisingly large number of clients, religious considerations may be just as important. This webinar will explore how practitioners can integrate religious considerations into the estate planning discussion.

As CPAs, you may have a more personal, longer, and deeper relationship with your clients and their families than the attorney handling the estate planning, who may have just met the client or only sees the client every 5 to 10 years. Your knowledge and relationship with many of your clients may make you the ideal adviser to open these discussions.

This presentation will discuss the components of estate planning that may be affected by a client's religious sensitivities. We will explore religious considerations of approximately 10 different faiths and religious considerations of most key types of estate plans and more. With the increasing attention to equity, inclusion, and diversity, this program will give you practical knowledge to address these types of issues.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize the religious implications of tax planning that apply to many clients

  • Determine how practitioners can integrate a discussion of religious considerations into the estate planning discussion

  • Identify what components of estate planning may be affected by a client’s religious sensitivities
